What are cookies?
Cookies are small text information stored on the user’s computer. They are sent via a web server, e.g. after visiting a website. They are most often used to facilitate and automate the website’s operation. The content of cookies does not allow the identification of the user. Cookie files usually contain the name of the website they come from, storage time on the hard disk and a unique number.
Application of cookies
Cookies are used to save small user data, which allows for automatic login, remember the content of the basket in the online store or preferences of the appearance, layout and language of the website. Sometimes they are an element of visit counters, probes and anonymous statistics, in order to check whether a user from a given computer has already been counted by the meter or voted in a poll.
Blocking cookies
To block cookies or to prevent only certain functions, change the settings of your web browser.
Google Chrome
Click on the menu (in the upper right corner), Settings tab »Show advanced settings. In the Privacy section, you must click the Content Settings button.
Mozilla Firefox
Through the browser menu, select: Tools »Options» Privacy. Then just activate the Firefox program field: it will use the user’s settings.
Internet Explorer
Tools »Internet Options» Privacy. Use the slider to set the privacy level.
Opera
From the browser menu: Settings »Privacy and security» cookies section.
